Atari 1030 Modem The Atari 1030 modem is an external 300 bps modem for the 8bit line of computers and connects directly to the Atari's I/O bus. There are no additional drivers or software needed to use this modem. To use it, one would first power on the modem, then power on the computer and the computer would then boot into a communications program taken directly from the ROM onboard the modem. This is truly a 'plug and play' piece of hardware!
